CECIL MCBEE

Que ce soit sous son nom ou aux côtés de Pharoah Sanders, Chico Freeman ou Sam Rivers, le contrebassiste Cecil McBee est un acteur important de la scène jazz indépendante et d'avant-garde des années 70. Le voici d'abord avec "Tulsa Black" extrait de son premier album, "Mutima", sorti en 74 chez Strata-East, suivi de "Come Sunrise", issu de l'album suivant "Alternate Spaces" paru trois ans plus tard chez India Navigation.

Cecil McBee has been an important player of the 70's avant-garde and independant jazz scence, be it under his own name or beside Pharoah Sanders, Chico Freeman or Sam Rivers. Here he is, first with "Tulsa Black", from his 1st album, "Mutima", a 74 Strata-East output, and then with "Come Sunrise", from the following one, "Alternate Spaces" released three years after on India Navigation.
